American Indian Studies Offered as Minor

Posted on: 09/15/2009

The American Indian Studies (AIS) interdisciplinary minor upholds traditional Native regard for a philosophy of balance, harmony, value, and respect by expanding its offerings outward from a focus on Native Ohio and the Ohio River as the heartland of the Great Lakes at the center of the continent. Matching this sweep of space is that of time. We embrace knowledge gained from diverse fields such as geology, archaeology, history, political science, folklore, law, geography, anthropology, and more. We value Native oral traditions, artifacts, and mementos as well as documents from European empires.
