Welcome to the American Indian Studies Program at The Ohio State University
Welcome
Welcome to the American Indian Studies Program at The Ohio State University. American Indian Studies respects the importance of Native protocol. We acknowledge that we are in the world, in central Ohio on the traditional homeland of the Shawnee Nation under the guidance of Our Grandmother (Kokumthena), in shelter of the Delaware under Kishaylamukong, and with the fire of the Wyandots under Ataentsik.
Osiyo!
Our theme this year explores Who are WE and Where are WE Going. We have an exciting year planned for you! American Indian Studies (AIS), American Indian Student Services (AISS), Newark Earthworks Center and the student organizations American Indian Council (AIC), and American Indian Students in Engineering and Sciences (AISES) will collaborate this year to provide you a native experience enriched in education, campus events, and student support.
Also, the American Indian Student Services under the leadership of Candi Krisch, has planned several events this quarter. Please visit the AISS site at multiculturalcenter.osu.edu/aiss
All of our programming is free and open to the public. Be sure to visit the web site frequently for a complete listing of campus events, course availability, and native news. We extend our best wishes and offer tobacco, corn meal, and good thoughts for a great and healthy academic school year.
