Artists’ Talks & Speaker Marti Chaatsmith
Join artists Mona Gazala, Lydia Smith, and Caryl Gonzalez for talks on their work currently on view at the Fine Arts Library. Following the artists’ talks will be a presentation by Marti Chaatsmith, Associate Director at the Newark Earthworks Center (NEC) at The Ohio State University at Newark on how to view the earthworks as integral to Indigenous life in the Eastern Woodlands, one that offers an alternative to the normative archaeological and historical narratives that have been created around them.
